Today was a great day-we were able to celebrate Michael's birthday (he is getting old, 27 years old), and went bowling, opened presents and had cake. But probably the best part of Michael's (and Jacob's and Daniel's) day was playing in the leaves.
Daniel got in on the action too. This picture sure makes our kids look blonde!

Oh Jacob!
I just have to post these funny pictures of Jacob. He is becoming quite the silly boy and talking up a storm. He is such a joy to have around.
Jacob and his friend Jenna
Some of his latest creations ;)
He wanted to be swaddled and put in the swing like Daniel. And then he even closed his eyes like he was sleeping. What a silly boy!
Setting the "table"
He put this "hat" on Daniel while he was sleeping.
Here he is showing how much he loves his brother. (Notice the baby underneath)
Playing on the lion mat with his brother
Daniel is almost 3 months old!!!
Can you believe that my little baby is almost 3 months old? I cannot. The time has passed by so quickly. Part of me feels so sad that my little baby is growing up so fast and part of me is breathing a sigh of relief to be mostly finished with the sleep deprivation. :)
I cannot ask for a sweeter boy. He has been a gem. Just today I was singing to him and he was actually trying to sing with me. I am not joking. I was singing "The Spirit of God" at the top of my lungs. He was actually making sounds and trying to sing like me in between lots of smiles. It melted my heart.
Jacob just loves his brother (sometimes a little too much). His favorite thing is to come up to Daniel and try to smash him or bump him in some way. But it really is out of love. He is always wondering where Daniel is when he wakes up in the morning or from his nap. Yesterday at chuch I was taking care of the boys alone since Michael was supporting a go-live. Things were getting a little crazy and a brother in front of us asked if he could hold Daniel. (Thank you...yes of course) Jacob was so worried about Daniel the whole time.
Here are some pictures of the last three months of our sweet baby's life.

Jacob dancing
This video just made me laugh so hard so I had to post it to the blog. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
Occasionally, Jacob and I will watch Baby Signing Time, a DVD teaching basic sign language for children. I hadn't turned it on in over a week and when I did, this is what happened. :)

Independence Day
It is not very often that I get to spend the day doing whatever I want with my husband and baby. I thought about it for several days and realized that there isn't a whole lot you can do when you have a one-year-old who still takes 3 naps! One of our original ideas was to go camping somewhere. We realized quickly that probably wouldn't work so well, since our tent is a VERY SMALL two-man tent. I can just see the three of us trying to get some sleep. That idea was quickly vetoed. The next idea was to go somewhere where we could build a fire and cook a meal. We began to realize that it was already the weekend of the 4th of July. All of the camping spots were reserved. We put on our thinking caps. Where do we always go to build fires and roast smores? EPIC!! We decided to camp where there was a kitchen, air-conditioning, a seperate room where Jacob could nap, and plenty of cool things to see and explore.
We made some tinfoil dinners and grabbed some stuff for smores and headed to EPIC. We were in the circus room with a very nice fireplace and it just happened to be very 4th of Julyish. (Is that even a word?) We had a blast. Despite the wonderful conditions, we still arrived home smelling like we had gone camping. :)

Thanks again Marc and Becca
Here we have another picutre of Jacob in his froggie towel after having a bath. He loves being wrapped up in it and we think that he is so cute in it.
