First haircut
Jacob doesn't look very happy here but we were. Jacob didn't have much hair, but he did have a mullet. We decided to cut it off so he didn't look like white trash.

When I think of Wisconsin...
Wisconsin is a land of farms and dairies. Jacob and I were driving through the countryside the other day and I snapped these photos. Years from now when I think of Wisconsin, images like these will come to mind. Every farm, it seems, has a classic red barn. I just think it is so great. Maybe I just love it because I grew up on a farm.

the (not so) daily update
Here we are at the library again. I have a few minutes so I thought that I would write a bit and update what is going on with us here. Becca is feeding Jacob so I should have a good little bit to write some things that have been going on.
First of all Becca and I were just talking while we were walking over here to the library (it is about a 1/2 mile from our house) about how many major life changes we have undergone in the recent past; a new job for Michael, a new job for Becca (being a mother) a son, buying a car, moving across the country and even submitting an offer for a house. It has been a little crazy the last little while. We are thinking that things might slow down a little, but I bet we are always going to find a lot to keep us busy.
One thing we were able to do just recently was take time one Saturday to spend walking around Epic. I know that doesn't sound like much fun, just walking around my work looking at offices, but until you have seen Epic don't be too hasty to judge. We spent about 3 hours on what is called the Epic 'campus' and we only saw a little under half of it. All of the buildings are elaborately decorated and are themed. Some of the themes are New York City, Garden, Jungle, Asian, Wild West, Far East, Dungeons and Dragons and even Heaven. There is a lot of art to see and the architecture of the buildings is amazing. Whenever you have a chance to come out to Madison, it is definitely worth looking at.
As was mentioned above, we have made an offer on a house. We are pretty excited, and nervous about doing it. We are now just waiting for a response that looks like it will be delayed. We found out that the listing agent left for Florida on a family emergency and the sellers are in San Diego. It could still be a bit before we get everyone back and in the same place to talk about it. We just hope that it all works out.
We really enjoyed listening to general conference this last week. We missed a little bit of the first Saturday session due to house shopping, but we were able to catch the talks that we missed for family home evening. We watched the Saturday sessions at the Stake Center, and Michael even got to sit by Scott and Uncle Leslie (due to his trip out here with Brenda and Sandra) during the priesthood session. It was fun the next day to be invited to a ward members house to watch the other sessions and then to spend the evening with Scott, Meghann and their visitors.
Life continues to go well for us here, we really can't complain, especially when we even have time and good weather to walk to the library and enjoy sitting down and just writing a blog entry.

Cute little Jacob
We like to call these pants his Grandpa pants because they always ride up to his armpits.
I had to take a picture of my two boys taking a snooze together on the couch.
This was Jacob's first haircut. When he was born he had quite a bit of hair but lost all of it but the hair around the back of his neck. Recently he has gotten a lot of new hair growth ...but the hair around the neck was starting to look like a mullet. (or a Mississippi Mudflap for Ben and Jamie) We took some scissors to it and got it all taken care of. :)

In Wisconsin
Here we are, sitting at the library in Madison (Fitchburg actually), updating our blog because we haven't done that in awhile. Why are we doing it at the library instead of the comfort of our recently renovated (20 years ago) apartment? Well, our apartment doesn't have internet access so this library has become our internet hub for the time being. Unfortunately we only have a limited amount of time online while at the library so this post will be short.
We are enjoying our time right now. Michael basically gets done with work, which is all training and studying right now, and gets home around 6 every night. The weird thing is, he doesn't have much to do when he gets home since he gets all of his work done at work. This is weird becuase we are use to having a lot of homework. It is nice that we can just spend time together taking some walks around town and enjoying the good weather while it lasts.
Jacob is growing and just having fun hanging out with mom all day. He really likes his vibrating seat and loves to look up at the lion and just smile. Well, actually right now he is getting a little fussy, so it looks like it is time to close up here and come back another day.
Stay tuned for videos and pictures of Jacob, they are cute.

Discovering talents
While spending so much time with our little boy, we have discovered that he has a natural aptitude for conducting music. At various times, he will throw his hands into the air and act as if he is conducting. It is fun to watch. He still needs to hone his skills before he conducts in Carnegie Hall. We figure that he will grow into the conducting shoes the same time he grows into the socks.

Where did it come from?
So, many people may wonder where did the baby come from. Well, to tell you the truth we are not exactly sure. We think that Becca had it inside of her belly, but after taking a look at these pictures we still don't know for sure. She sure can hide it pretty well.
The birthday boys
Here is Jacob and Grandpa Jones, both with their birthdays on this day, I bet you can't tell which one is older.
Baby Boy
There isn't that much to say about the labor and delivery of our first son, Jacob Samuel Jones. Besides at this point people just want to look at the pictures anyway. He was born at 12:07 on July 21st, his grandpa Jones's birthday. We are excited to have him as part of the family especailly because he eats well, sleeps well, is healthy, happy and darn cute.

From Springfield
I (Michael) am currently in Springfield, you know, the capital of Illinois. I went to see Abraham Lincoln's old house, the old and new capital buildings here in town, and some other site seeing venues around. I am here on the 7th or 8th stop on a trip I am taking with my Uncle Dale. We are advancing a tour for BYU-Idaho currently. It is pretty fun, but we get pretty tired after driving and meeting with people all day long. 10:30 means bedtime on this trip.

In case you were wondering
The picture that we have posted here is one that was taken during a trip to Ft. Collins, CO. At the time Becca and I were only dating, we hadn't even become engaged at this point. We were in Colorado to watch the marriage of one you my friends growing up. On the trip Becca was able to see the places that I grew up and meet some of the people in my old ward. It was a great experience despite the long drive and we loved our time together.
